The answer is that the average is probably around $10 for two minutes. However, some networks have much better offers that may average closer to $15 for a minute and thirty seconds.

However, payout isn’t the only reason you should promote an offer.

A lot of the opportunity with a campaign is seeing if you can figure out a profitable way to promote it. If you can get the offer in front your audience for free or in enough volume, then you can make money from even low paying offers.

Moreover, a lower paying offer might also do a really good job of keeping prospects on the phone… while a high paying offer qualifies prospects very quickly before they have to pay out.

This is why it’s so important that you do a “Test” call for each offer to find out. When calling you want to listen closely to the what the initial recorded message says and the first questions the representative asks you.

If he or she immediately begins asking for personal information (starts qualifying you), then that is going to impact sales (though not necessarily make it unprofitable).

However, not all Pay Per Call affiliate offers are created alike.

Some may be run by small “mom and pop” businesses… while others might be run by major corporations like Allstate, DirecTv, and Sears.

Moreover… some offers may only pay a few dollars, while others may pay as much as $60 for just 60 seconds.

Obviously, knowing where to find the best paying offers can mean a big difference in your pay per call profits.

The two biggest ad networks with Pay Per Call affiliate offers are CommissionJunction.com and Linkshare.com. This is where most affiliate go. However, in my opinion, especially for Commission Junction, there are a lot better offers elsewhere.

In fact, there are around 20 affiliate networks that offer Pay Per Call programs… and that number keeps on growing.

So, what’s the problem with CJ?

Well… if you have Justin Elenburg’s course on pay per call marketing called, “Mobile Money Bandit,” then you know his advice for choosing a program…

You should look for pay per call affiliate offers that pay at least $10 or the required call time should be less than two minutes.

From my experience, this is great advice, especially if you’re new to pay per call. This is because when you’re not paid much per offer, then your margin of error gets very small.

Just one or two junk calls you didn’t count on and you’re now in the red for the day. On the hand, when your getting paid $10, then it’s very easy to turn a profit even if your conversion rates are on the low end.

So, where can you find higher paying offers?

Well, CJ and Linkshare do have some. However, I’d look for smaller networks. The little guys tend to do a better job screening affiliates… and with higher-quality affiliates, then advertisers are willing to pay more because they know they’re not going to get overloaded with junk call.

However, if you’ve bought a lot of these mobile marketing products, you’ve been in for a big let down. It feels like the courses are nothing more than old IM strategies recycled for mobile.

For instance…

These product claim that the keys to profit from mobile are to:

• Sell SMS (text) marketing to Joey’s Pizza who doesn’t even have a website yet… or the time of a day to listen to your sales pitch as he struggles to keep up with orders…

• Create costly Iphone apps… like your somehow going to make millions when you’re going up against big companies with millions to spend on promotion and development…

• Use expensive mobile banner ads to drive traffic to affiliate links. What they DON’T tell you is that mobile ads are even harder to make profitable because so many clicks are accidental due to “Fat fingers.”

Heck… for the average marketer, this stuff just does not work. So… it’s no one wonder you’re asking yourself if Mobile Money Bandit is a scam just like the vast majority of other mobile marketing products?

Well… here’s what makes Mobile Money Bandit different…

Mobile Money Bandit wasn’t developed by one of these “Gurus” who put out a product every few months.

Pay per call allows you to convert typically 20-30% of your traffic into commissions by sending them into corporate call centers.

Of course, not all pay per call affiliate program offers have these kind of numbers.

Some have well-trained sales staff at their call centers who know how to keep your traffic on the line… while others are poorly organized and are a complete waste of your time and money to promote.

So, how do you know when you have winner before you start driving traffic?

Well… the biggest key is you absolutely must perform a “Test” call. A test call is a feature that allows you to dial up the call center and experience the call… just how your traffic does.

Then, when you do the test call, you want to pay attention to:

• How many buttons you must push before you speak to an operator? (You want as few as possible)
• What does the automated message say when you wait for an operator? Does it keep you on the line?
• How long do you have to wait on hold? (It shouldn’t be more than ten seconds).
• Does the operator work to keep you on the line or does he/she seem uninterested in helping?
• Does the operator sell you on the product or scare you away from buying?

On top of this, you want to make sure that the payout is large enough to make you a sizable profit. Your margins get much tighter when the payout is under $10 for two minutes or more on the phone.

A good approach to find the most profitable affiliate programs is to start promoting on a small scale when you think you’ve found a good offer. Then, when it starts to consistently convert, then you know it’s a good offer and you can scale up.
